PARSIPPANY, NJ — Pet Valu, a specialty pet food and supplies retailer, has announced it will shutter all 358 of its U.S. stores, including a location in Parsippany, Madison and Mendham.
Jamie Gould, Pet Valu’s recently appointed chief restructuring officer, said in a news release that the company’s stores “have been significantly impacted by the protracted COVID-19-related restrictions.”
“After a thorough review of all available alternatives, we made the difficult but necessary decision to commence this orderly wind down,” she said.
While there is no official closure date for any of the stores, the Pet Valu U.S. website indicates that store closing sales have already begun. Pet Points Plus Members will accrue points toward awards and receive five percent discounts through Sat., Nov. 21. Customers are encouraged to use any outstanding gift cards by Sun., Dec. 13. Online shopping is no longer available on their website.
Pet Valu U.S. licenses its name and contracts for certain services from Pet Valu Canada, which is not impacted by the wind down. For more information, visit petvalu.com/us.
