MORRISTOWN, NJ -- A deceased male was found in the stairway of the Morristown Train Station, announced Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Christoph Kimker, New Jersey Transit Police Chief Christopher Trucillo and Morristown Police Department Acting Chief Darnell Richardson in a joint statement.

According to authorities, at approximately 12:29 a.m. on March 29, police received information regarding a deceased male.  

An autopsy has been performed by the Morris County Medical Examiner's Office but the cause and manner of death are pending. Authorities will not release the identity of the individual at this time.

The Morristown Train Station platform is open. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
