MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Volunteers are being sought to serve in the Morris County Ambassadors Program, which offers assistance to military veterans. The Veterans Services Office, which provides information and assistance to Morris County veterans and their families in obtaining VA benefits and other assistance, and the VA Clinic are located at 540 West Hanover Avenue in Morristown.

Volunteers would be required to greet arriving veterans, make them comfortable, and escort them either on foot or using wheelchairs to the county office or the second floor veterans’ clinic, which are housed in the rear section of the Morris View Healthcare Center. It also could include meeting veterans in the parking lot and helping them get
in and out of the building.

Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, mostly during clinic hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is not necessary to have a military background, although it could be helpful in assisting the veterans who visit the county offices and VA clinic.
