PARSIPPANY, NJ - There will be closures on Rt. 46 in Parsippany next week as the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced the beginning of an intersection improvement project. There will be closures in each direction.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, March 15, NJDOT’s contractor, Berto Construction, is scheduled to close the shoulder on Route 46 in each direction at the intersection with New Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Morris County. The shoulders will remain closed for approximately two weeks, allowing the contractor to replace the curb and sidewalk. All travel lanes will be maintained at all times.
After this phase of the project, lane closures will be required at the intersections of Route 1 & 9 and Avenue C in Linden, Union County, and Route 27/Rahway Avenue and Route 439/South Elmora Avenue in Elizabeth, Union County. The entire intersection improvement project is expected to be completed by fall 2021.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information.
