TRENTON, NJ –  The New Jersey State Police will be accepting applications from April 29 through May 12, 2019. The selection process consists of an initial application, physical qualification test, written examination, comprehensive background investigation, and in-person interview.

Applications will be screened to determine minimum qualifications and automatic disqualifiers.

According to the agency, the current starting salary for a trooper is $62,736.93, which includes a uniform allowance. The second-year total compensation significantly increases to $70,515.96. Top pay for a Trooper I is $111,037.11. Troopers receive yearly increments.

All recruits receive $1,175.00 every two weeks. Room and board are also provided while training.
