DENVILLE, NJ – The Denville Police Department issued the following statement regarding an automobile accident that occurred in Downtown Denville on April 20.
“On 04/20/2019, at approximately 2015 hours, the Denville Police responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle crash on Bloomfield Avenue in the area of Thatcher McGee’s Irish Pub and Eatery. A vehicle driven by Joseph Barnish (age 88; Lake Hiawatha, NJ) struck two unoccupied parked vehicles and another occupied vehicle which was traveling in the roadway. In addition, the force of the collision caused one of the struck parked vehicles to strike and damage a utility pole and another unoccupied parked vehicle. Debris from the impact struck and damaged yet another vehicle. In all, six vehicles were involved in the collision.”
“Barnish was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The passenger of the other occupied vehicle, James Koppelmann (age 20; Denville, NJ), was also transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, Sierra Seeley (age 20; Denville, NJ), was uninjured.”
“At this time, the crash remains under investigation and anyone with any information should contact either Det. Tobin or P.O. Morgan of the Denville Police Department at 973-627-4900.”
