DENVILLE, NJ – Morris Knolls boys varsity basketball fell to Mount Olive, 41-35, in the team’s home opener in Denville on Fri., Jan. 3.

Although Morris Knolls outperformed Mount Olive in the second half, scoring 27 points to Mount Olive’s 18, the 11-point deficit in the first quarter proved to be insurmountable for Knolls.

The Golden Eagles’s Shawn Byrnes had the game high with nine points, followed by Stephen Carri with eight, both draining two three-pointers.

Mount Olive’s Thomas Abato and Donovan Rauh scored the game high with 11 points each.

The 1-3 Golden Eagles will host Roxbury (4-1) on Wed., Jan. 8, at 7 p.m.
