DENVILLE, NJ – Morris Knolls girls basketball soundly defeated Wallkill Valley 55-37 at home on Friday, Jan. 18.

Seven players scored for the Golden Eagles. Emily Mitarotonda, the game’s leading scorer, netted 14 points, six of them from the free-throw line. Brielle Gavito also garnered double-digits with 10 points.

Gabby Perna sank the only three-pointer for Knolls and ended the evening with nine points.

Bri Mennella and Maddie Knaack had eight points each. Cayla Jones scored four points, and Annie Nolan earned two.

Morris Knolls demonstrated cohesive play despite the absence of two key players, Team Captain Maddison Perna and Kate Walsh, who were in Florida for a national soccer tournament.

The 5-7 Golden Eagles will face Villa Walsh away on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m.
