MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- Morris Knolls defeated Morristown, 6-2, on Wed Feb 18 evening at Mennen Sports Arena.

Morris Knolls struck first when Evan Kelly scored his first career varsity goal midway through the opening period. Jason Kwestel gave Morris Knolls a 2-0 advantage after scoring with 6:24 remaining in the first period. Kwestel scored his second goal less than a minute later to make it a 3-0 game.

Jeff Quinn put Morris Knolls ahead 4-0 in the second period on a wraparound goal.

Morristown’s Harry Santen scored on a backhander later on in the period to cut the deficit to 4-1.

The Colonials got within two goals at 4-2 after Santen found Jack McKenna just a minute into the third period.

Morris Knolls finished strong, however, after Ryan Murcer scored his first varsity goal and Quinn scored once again. Morris Knolls held a 38-21 edge in shots on goal.

The 4-3-1 Golden Eagles will face Morristown-Beard (3-1-1) on Sat Feb 20 at 8:15 p.m. at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown.
