MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morris Knolls ice hockey battled Randolph to a 3-3 draw on Tue., Dec. 17, at Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown.
Although Randolph dominated the first period with unanswered goals from Ray McNamara (assisted by Kyle Barbera) and Zach Gallo, Morris Knolls slowly and steadily began its comeback in the second period with an unassisted goal by Jason Kwestel.
Morris Knolls eventually gained control and the lead in the third period with a goal by Andrew Ryan (assisted by Dylan Idland) and another one 10 seconds later by Jake Quinn (assisted by Jake DiLoreto).
Randolph remained relentless and managed to net the equalizer with a goal from Ben Yurchuk (assisted by JT Zangara) with 2:11 minutes remaining in the game.
Morris Knolls goalie Elliot Marken had 25 saves for the night, while Gavin Einfeldt stopped 16 for Randolph.
The 2-2-1 Golden Eagles will face Lakeland Regional (4-0-1) on Thur., Dec. 19, at 6:15 p.m. at Ice Vault Arena in Wayne.
