DENVILLE, NJ — Morris Knolls ice hockey got its second defeat of the season, going down 5-2 to Chatham on Tue., Dec. 10, at the Mennen Sports Arena in Morristown.

James Betz scored a goal for Morris Knolls in the first period, assisted by Jake DiLoreto and Dante Tironi. Andrew Ryan added another in the second, assisted by Betz and Gehrig Eckoff.

Chatham’s Ryan Sordillo scored the first goal of the game and the last two of the game to earn a hat trick. Brandon Lupi assisted with the second. Tommy Sennett netted the puck for Chatham with 1:40 minutes remaining in the first period, assisted by Declan Curry and Quinn Kelly. Ryan Burke, assisted by Lupi, made Chatham’s only goal of the second period.

Each team ended the game with 28 shots on goal with Chatham’s Jenn Olnowich getting 26 saves and Morris Knolls’s Elliot Marken stopping 23.

The 1-2 Golden Eagles will face Kinnelon (0-2-1) on Fri., Dec. 13, at 4:45 p.m. at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, New Jersey.
