DENVILLE, NJ – No. 1 seed Morris Knolls softball fell to No. 5 seed Mount Olive, 3-2, in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4, tournament on May 24 at Morris Knolls High School.

Mount Olive’s ability to outhit Morris Knolls 6-2 was enough to eke out the victory. Casey Heitmann and Kayla Turcios were the only Golden Eagles to get hits off Marauders pitchers Anna Callahan and Lindsey Walter.

Turcios pitched the entire game for Morris Knolls, garnering two strikeouts, six hits and four walks in the loss.

Although the Golden Eagles’s run in the state sectionals has come to an end, the team will conclude its season on Saturday, May 25, when it travels to Mount St. Dominic in Caldwell, New Jersey, for a 10 a.m. start.
