DENVILLE, NJ – Morris Knolls football and girls volleyball suffered defeats over the weekend while girls soccer advanced to the Morris County Tournament semifinals.
Kinnelon defeated Morris Knolls volleyball, 2-0, on Fri., Oct. 4., in Kinnelon. After falling 25-8 in the first game, the Golden Eagles rallied in the second game but ultimately fell short again, 25- 20. With a record of 6-6, Morris Knolls will next host Roxbury (12-3) on Tue., Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
Delbarton football overpowered Morris Knolls, 42-7, in Morristown on Sat., Oct. 5. Morris Knolls quarterback Nick Parente scored the Golden Eagles’s only touchdown on a 40-yard run. Patrick Sinegra nailed the extra point. Looking to improve its record, the 2-2 Golden Eagles will travel to Morristown (2-2) on Sat., Oct. 12, for a 1 p.m. game start.
Five-seed Morris Knolls girls soccer defeated four-seed Hanover Park, 2-1, on Sun., Oct. 6, to advance to the semifinals of the Morris County Tournament. Madison Palma scored both goals for the Golden Eagles in the second period, assisted on one by Rebecca Racine. Katelyn Walsh had 12 saves. The team, now 4-4-2, will play Randolph in the semifinals on Sun., Oct. 13. For the regular season, Morris Knolls will face West Morris Central (5-4-1) away on Thur., Oct. 10, at 4 p.m.
