DENVILLE, NJ – Eighth-seed Morris Knolls girls basketball dominated ninth-seed Ridgewood at home, 54-36, from start to finish thanks to the three-point shooting of senior Gabby Perna in the first round of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Tournament, North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4, on Tue., March 3.

Perna earned the game’s high with 16 points – five three-pointers and one free throw. Emily Mitarotonda and Brianna Mennella also scored in double digits with 15 and 12, respectively, while Brielle Gavito added six, and Maddie Knaack contributed five.

Ridgewood’s Katie McCarthy scored the team’s high with eight points.

Morris Knolls (14-12) advances to the quarterfinal round to face top-seed Randolph (22-3) on the road on Thur., March 5, at 7 p.m.
