NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Authorities have lodged murder and robbery charges against three city residents in connection with this weekend’s stabbing death of a man on Hamilton Street.
Manuel “Manny” Maldonado, 20, Jose David “Sparky” Vasquez-Rivera, 18, and Xavier “Caballo” Sanchez-Parral are being held on those charges at this time, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Brunswick Police Department.
The three men allegedly took money from Enrique Perez Galindo, a 29-year-old New Brunswick man, in the driveway of his apartment complex at 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
The accused then allegedly stabbed the man, who was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m. in his home, between Woodbridge and Bridge streets.
“He managed to return to his apartment, where he died,” the press release reads.
It’s unclear when Maldonado, Vasquez-River and Sanchez-Parral will make their first court appearance. They are presumed innocent, the prosecutor’s office noted, until proven guilty.
