TRENTON , NJ– Senator Patrick J. Diegnan Jr. was sworn into the New Jersey State Senate today, where – after 15 years in the General Assembly – he will continue to represent the people of the 18th Legislative District.
“It is truly an honor to be able to serve my constituents as a member of the state Senate,” said Senator Diegnan. “I am excited to continue my work to make New Jersey a better place to live and work for our residents and for future generations. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance policies that will secure a brighter tomorrow for our residents.”
Senate President Steve Sweeney administered the oath of office to Senator Diegnan in the Senate Chamber.
“I join with all of my Senate colleagues in welcoming Patrick to the Senate where we look forward to working with him on the issues of importance to New Jersey. Patrick has a proven record of success as a legislator who works hard, is always willing to take on difficult challenges and is dedicated to improving the lives of the people he represents and moving New Jersey forward. I know that he will continue to excel as a member of the Senate,” said Senate President Sweeney.
The 18th Legislative District consists of the Middlesex County communities of East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Highland Park, Metuchen, South Plainfield and South River in Middlesex County.
