SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Alice's CUP Food Pantry on Main Street is badly in need of some helping hands; volunteers to help feed the more than four hundred families they assist each month.
Located in the annex of the Spotswood Reformed Church, the pantry provides food for any Middlesex County resident in need. Volunteers staff the food bank, which sits right between the Main Street church and the Verizon building.
Alice's CUP is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Volunteers typically work two-hour shifts in either the morning or afternoon. They can volunteer once a week, bi-weekly or once a month. However, the pantry is also flexible and will try to work out a time that bests fits into the volunteer's schedule.
Interested residents should contact Robyn Hayes at 732-915-0084.
Food donations are also in high demand at the pantry and are always welcome. Donations of non-perishable food items such as cereal, soup, rice, pasta and sauce as well as household products like paper towels and tissues constantly need to be replenished.
Paper shopping bags are needed as well.
Any donations can be dropped off when the pantry is open. Pantry hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
