Edison, NJ - The Bears put up runs in a hurry allowing them to beat Bishop Ahr in five innings. Since EB was up more than ten runs, the mercy rule was put into effect.

The Bears had a combined pitching effort consisting of Michael Falco, Joe Petrocelli, and Evan Dekhayser. The three pitchers surrendered only one hit and tallied nine strikeouts.

In the first inning the Senior Tyler Burnham had an RBI single. The next batter, Michael Falco ripped into left field allowing two runs to score. After the first inning the Bears were up 3-0.

A few innings later, the Bears put up seven runs. This inning was headlined by a base clearing double by Senior Matt Bartus to extend the lead to 12-0. Adding insult to injury, the Bears tacked on another two runs in the following inning to close out a 14-0 victory.

The game was highlighted by East Brunswick’s hot bats. EB racked up 11 hits on the day. Seniors Matt Bartus and Matt Nelson both had 3 RBIs. Additionally, Juniors Michael Falco and Brad Edwards possessed 2 RBIs a piece. This dominant team performance makes the East Brunswick Bears 5-2 on the season.
