East Brunswick, NJ - A few costly errors by EB gave Old Bridge an early lead but the Bears were ultimately able to pull out a 3-2 win. The game was headlined by timely hitting and solid pitching by Tyler Burnham.


The Knights of Old Bridge struck first scoring their only two runs in the first inning of the game. The Bears committed two errors in the first inning, which costed them to surrender two unearned runs. After the first inning Burnham and the Bears settled down. Senior, Tyler Burnham pitched a complete game only allowing five hits and striking out two batters.


The Bears did not have a good scoring opportunity until the fourth inning when Junior David Bermudez led off the inning with a double into left field. A few batters later Junior Michael Falco ripped a double into center field, which scored David Bermudez. The next batter was Junior Brad Edwards who hit a single advancing Falco to third base. A few batters later Falco scored when he stole home tying the game up at two a piece.

In the bottom of the seventh inning the Bears led off the inning with a single by Senior Jay Marchese. A sacrifice bunt by Junior James Schuld advanced the runner into scoring position. With runners on first and second the Bears had their hottest hitter at the plate, Senior Ryan Flynn. With a 1-0 count Flynn turned on one to send it into left field allowing the game winning run to cross the plate. East Brunswick won 3-2 over the Old Bridge Knights on a huge walkoff by Flynn, making their record 8-3.
