EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - In the Bears’ second game of the NJSIAA State Tournament, Senior Mike Falco threw a flawless perfect game. Falco absolutely dominated the Freehold Colonials from the beginning, and he was untouchable, racking up nine strikeouts in a 10-0 victory.

With the remarkable performance on the mound by Falco, the Bears offense also came alive. After a quiet first few innings, EB put four runs on the board in the third inning. A leadoff double by Kevin Schuster was followed by a single by David Bermudez to plate the first run of the game. A few batters later, James Schuld hit a ground ball into center field to put another run on the board.

The following inning, the Bears added on another run but the offense erupted again in the bottom of the fifth inning. Entering the fifth inning, EB had a 5-0 lead. A couple of singles and a walk loaded up the bases for East Brunswick. With zero outs, Kevin Schuster hit a double into right field to clear the bases, resulting in a 9-0 lead. Schuster had an impressive night, going 2-for-3 and tallying three RBIs. EB only needed to score one more run for the mercy rule to come into effect and end the game. After a few walks, Brandon Rosenthal sealed the deal with a RBI single, putting an end to a dominant win and advancing the Bears to the next round.
