HOWELL, NJ - East Brunswick High School Girls Track and Field Team scored some top results at this past weekend’s Group Four Sectional Meet at Howell High School and many will be headed to the Finals next weekend. The Group 4 schools are the most competitive in the state.
Senior Shanelle Colmon continued her winning ways by placing 1st in the girls 100 Meter with a 12.39 time. She also came in 2nd in the 200 meter at 24.71 which is the new school record.
Senior Victoria Constantin took home gold in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.21 and bronze in the 400 hurdles with 1:05.64. The 4 x 100 relay team of Colmon, Constantin, Junior Deidre Otoo, and Freshman Angelina Martinez took home the Gold with a meet record of 48.24.
Senior Gabrielle McSweeney also advances to the Group Finals with a 5th place spot in Pole Vault.
The Boys 4 x 800 meter relay team also secured a spot at the Finals with a 4th place finish of 8:00.08. Senior Joey Coyle, Juniors Robby Arpaio and Leland Davies, and Sophomore Alex Gultekinoglu are the members. Sophomore Jake Stocki also secured a spot in the finals with a 3rd place finish in pole vault.
Group 4 Finals take place at Franklin High School next Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2.
