TOMS RIVER, NJ- The EBHS Track and Field Team scored competitive results at the Winter GMC Relays at the Toms River “Bubble”. A total of 13 teams competed including many archrivals. Boys’ Varsity Pole Vault took 1st place with Devin Kusmider(Jr.) tying the school record at 13’ 0” feet and Jair Davis(Sr.) jumping 10’ 6”.
The boys 800 relay team consisting of Sajal Duppatha(So), Sanket Jain(Jr.), and the Sophomore Power House Davies twins(Reyden and Leland) came in 4th. Justin Zhang(Jr.) came in 2nd place in the Shot Put.
Lady Bears also achieved incredible results. The 200 relay team with Mariah Shummet(Sr.), Deidre Otoo(So.), Gabby Blaustein(Sr.), and Shanelle Colman(Jr.) came in 2nd.
A 3rd place finish for the 400 relay team went to all just mentioned, except Gabby Donou(Fre.) ran instead of Gabby Blaustein. Another 3rd place finish was achieved by the 1600 Sprint Medley team of Kayla Flynn(So.), Vianca Vicenti(Sr.), Gabby Blaustein, and Chelsea Stocki(Jr).
Next up is the individual Greater Middlesex County Individual Championships on Saturday, January 14 in Toms River.
