EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s Community Theater, presents Big Fish, a musical by Tony nominee Andrew Lippa and the book by screenwriter John August. The show runs June 8 though 24.
Playhouse 22’s Big Fish is directed by Richard P. Butler, choreography Angela Ricci, and music direction by Mark McGee.
Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Pictures film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish centers on the mystical journey of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some. Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales.
Guests are invited to join the cast and crew for a special opening night reception, sponsored by the East Brunswick Stop and Shop to be held after the Friday, June 8 opening performance.
Playhouse 22’s performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets are $22/adults and $20/seniors and students, and can be purchased online at Playhouse22.org; calling the Box Office at (732) 254-3939; or at the door on the day of the performance.
