MONROE, NJ - In a closely contested game, a big third quarter boosted the East Brunswick boys basketball team to a 64-58 victory over Monroe.
In the first quarter Monroe outscored EB by one point, but the second quarter both teams scored 18. The Bears trailed the Falcons, 30-29, at halftime. The leading scorer for the Falcons was AK Patel who totaled 22 points.
East Brunswick outscored Monroe, 18-9, in the third quarter, enabling the Bears to pull away. Senior Dante Ralph finished with a team-high 18 points and Gil Wyman scored 12 points. The Bears were also supported by junior guards Jesse Perel, totaling 10 points, and Eric Schneider accounting for 9 points, all coming from the three-point line.
