NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - In a party election with very little drama, the Middlesex County Democrats re-elected their leaders Tuesday night by an acclamation vote.

Chairman Kevin P. McCabe and Vice Chair Beatrice Moskowitz will now serve their fifth term, leading the powerful Middlesex County Democratic Organization (MCDO) for another year.

“Our organization is as strong as it has ever been. I cannot stress how much work remains to be done so that we can be even stronger, “ McCabe said, during the party's reorganization meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel attended by Gov. Phil Murphy.

County Democrats say McCabe has helped create a county government that is as diverse and as productive as any across the state of New Jersey.

That includes a strong county delegation in the state Legislature, including the election of Craig Coughlin as Assembly Speaker.

“When I became Chairman, I promised you this: I would never put anyone’s interests, including my own, ahead of what is best for our party. All of these efforts are also a vehicle to ensure that we protect the legislative gains we made in 2017, and send even more Democrats to the legislature in 2019,” McCabe said,

“Most of us here in this room have given blood, sweat and tears for our Democratic Party. We’ve tried it. We did it. And we will continue to push barriers to be successful,”  Moskowitz added.

“Under Chairman McCabe’s leadership, Middlesex Democrats have reached new heights - winning local races, growing the party, and connecting with communities from the ground up,” Murphy said. "I congratulate Chairman McCabe and Vice Chair Moskowitz on their continued leadership of the MCDO, and look forward to working in close partnership with them, Speaker Coughlin, and all Middlesex Dems to build a stronger and fairer New Jersey for all."
