NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Deputy Chief William Krause of the East Brunswick Police Department announced today that a township man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two boys on separate occasions in his home.
Michael Roberson, 42, of Old Bridge Turnpike in East Brunswick was arrested and charged on July 7, 2014 with one count of aggravated sexual assault and two counts each of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of the children.
He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick. Bail has been set at $225,000.
Roberson was charged after one of the victims, now 18, told police he had been sexually assaulted as a child.
Investigator Colin Feneis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Crispin Farrace of the East Brunswick Police Department determined that Roberson sexually assaulted the victim on various occasions while he was between the ages of 8 and 13.
The investigation further determined that another child, now a 22-year-old man, had been sexually assaulted on one occasion at the defendant’s home when he was 7 or 8 years old.
The investigation is active and is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Feneis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3652, or Detective Farrace of the East Brunswick Police Department at (732) 390-6990.
As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Roberson are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
