EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - On Wednesday, September 17th at approximately 8:20 P.M. East Brunswick Police Units responded to the area of Rt. 18 south and the Highland Street Extension for a pedestrian struck. The initial investigation indicates that a light colored sedan (believed to be a 92-95 Honda Civic, possibly four door) was traveling south on Hwy 18 near the Highland Street Extension. A pedestrian, Daniel T. Catalfamo 29 years old of Edison NJ, entered the highway and was struck by the vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene south on Hwy 18.

The East Brunswick Rescue Squad and Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital arrived on scene to begin treating Mr. Catalfamo. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 9:07 P.M.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are currently being investigated.
