Russell Buchinsky, supervisor of East Brunswick’s Shade Tree Division, will discuss the division’s work in the township and share his love and knowledge of trees at the next Option Green program at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, at the East Brunswick Public Library at 2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive. The program is free and open to the public.

Residents are invited to learn about the township’s tree removal and replacement program, the threat to local trees posed by the destructive Emerald Ash Borer, and how technology is being used in tree management.  Buchinsky also will answer audience questions on tree-related concerns.

A 1990 graduate of East Brunswick High School, Buchinsky is an ISA-Certified Arborist (International  Society of Aboriculture) and licensed tree expert. He has worked as an arborist in New Jersey, Texas and Florida. He’s also been a competitive tree climber, placing fifth overall in the state in 2005. After working with private companies, he joined the Shade Tree Division in 2012 and became the lead arborist in 2017.
