EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Can’t make it to the Post Office during the regular Monday – Saturday scheduled business hours? To ease some hustle and bustle of the holiday season, 30 Northern New Jersey Post Offices are expanding service in December. Thirteen Post Offices are offering Sunday retail business hours, five others are extending their Saturday hours, and 12 additional offices are offering special Sunday package pickup hours.
As an added convenience, the East Brunswick Post Office on Cranbury Road is offering Sunday retail business hours on Sunday, Dec 8, 15 and 22 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Of course the ultimate holiday convenience is the Postal Service’s USPS.com website. Consumers can skip the trip to the Post Office by using the Click-N-Ship feature and other online services at USPS.com to order free Priority Mail boxes, purchase holiday stamps, print shipping labels for packages with postage, and request free next-day Package Pickup.
Nationally, the U.S. Postal Service is ready to deliver more than 800 million packages between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. The busiest time of the season peaks two weeks before Christmas, when much last-minute shopping starts. Customer traffic is expected to increase beginning December 9, while the week of December 16 is expected to be the busiest time for mailing, shipping and delivery. Additionally, the Postal Service predicts that nearly 2.5 billion pieces of First-Class Mail, including greeting cards, will be processed and delivered the week of December 16.
