EBPD Detectives Save the Life of a Choking Man

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -  Detectives Paul Jun and Dan Unkel arrived just in time to save the life of an East Brunswick  man who was choking this Wednesday.

On 10/03/17, EBPD dispatch advised that there was a male choking and turning blue at a Merrill Avenue residence. 

Det. Paul Jun and Det. Dan Unkel were in the area and responded within seconds.

Upon arrival they found the 69 year old victim on a kitchen chair with his wife present.  He was unresponsive and his face was completely blue.

According to a report issued by Lt. Sean Goggins today, the detectives took turns performing the Heimlich Maneuver and eventually dislodged the food obstruction. 

The victim began to breathe on his own and was further treated by Atlantic 11 Rescue Squad and RWJUH Medics before being transported to RWJUH.
