EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ—East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) hosts a special two-part program “Addressing Sexual Violence through Education & Empowerment” on Wednesday, April 4 from 7 to 9 pm.
The first part of the program is the presentation ”Sexual Violence” with Jennifer Kurdyla, MSW, of Middlesex County Office of Health Services and Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition of Middlesex County. The goal of her presentation is to increase awareness and understanding surrounding the reality of this complex and important issue can help our community better address and prevent it.
The second half is a special workshop on self-defense and risk reduction with Brianna Lally. She is a personal trainer at RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center and part of the Marine Corps Reserves, has trained in martial arts with a focus on Kaizen and Krav Maga. The workshop shows women of all strengths, ability and sizes techniques and how to be swift, quick and escape if a harmful situation does arise. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing.
