EAST BRUNSWICK, NJSince debuting in May of 1977, George Lucas’s Star Wars film series has captured the imaginations of moviegoers everywhere. To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the movies, East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) will host a double-header of Star Wars themed programs on Saturday, May 13 starting at 12 pm.

Both programs feature New York Times bestselling author Jason Fry, who has written more than 40 books chronicling the Star Wars saga, including “Star Wars: The Essential Atlas,” “Star Wars: Complete Locations” and “Rogue One: Rebel Dossier.”

At 12 pm, Fry presents “The Secrets of Star Wars,” which is designed for children ages 6 and up. He discusses the various Star Wars children’s books he has written, as well as his secrets for turning your ideas and experiences into stories. He will also talk about his book series “Jupiter Pirates” which is a high-seas adventure and space-epic for kids ages 8-12.

Following both programs, copies of Fry’s books will be available for purchase and signing.

Throughout the day, there will also be a Star Wars trivia challenge with prizes.

Registration is not required for either free program. This program is part of the library’s 50th-anniversary program series and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
