EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ— With summer only a few short weeks away, it’s officially vacation season. To help everyone plan the perfect daytrip to see New Jersey’s most unique attractions, East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) hosts a special program with Retro Roadmap blogger and author Beth Lennon on Thursday, June 1 at 7 pm.
Retro Roadmap (retroroadmap.com) is a nation-wide guide to finding charming vintage attractions. The website features restaurants, diners, five-and-dime stores, cabins, old fashioned movie theaters, motels and other fun roadside sights. Retro Roadmap has been featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe and The Huffington Post.
Lennon will be sharing some of the best retro locations in New Jersey, featuring some of the best mid-century buildings, landmark eateries and kitschy 1950s vacation destinations that the Garden State has to offer. From beloved roadside eateries like the Fireplace in Paramus to Wildwood’s Caribbean Motel, Retro Roadmap highlights the hidden gems found in plain sight in New Jersey and beyond.
Registration is not required for this free program. This program is part of the library’s 50th-anniversary program series and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
