Graduates from the program lost weight, improved eating habits, started walking, and lowered blood sugar levels.

“I have learned more in this workshop than I have in 10 years of fighting this disease,” said Marian, a woman with Type 2 diabetes who graduated from a previous workshop.

The free diabetes self-management workshop series will be offered at the East Brunswick Public Library on 2 Jean Walling Civic Center in East Brunswick, NJ 08816 on Mondays, June 4 to July 9 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Healthy snacks, literature, and resources will be provided.

To register, call the library’s Information Services Desk at (732) 390-6767.

Quality Insights is collaborating with Middlesex County Office of Health Services to offer this free diabetes workshop as part of Everyone with Diabetes Counts (EDC). The EDC program is a national initiative of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Learn more at www.qualityinsights-qin.org.

The Queen of the Big Time by Adriana Trigiani (Ballentine Books, 2005)

The Queen of the Big Time by Adriana Trigiani, a New York Times best selling author, was recommended to me by a young woman who actually came from the town of Roseto, Pennsylvania, the place where the novel is set. “The author did such a wonderful job of describing how the town actually is,” said the young lady.
