EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The East Brunswick Friends of The Library commences their month-long membership drive beginning Jan 1. The Friends has been an enthusiastic and generous supporter of the Library for more than thirty years, providing funds beyond the capabilities of the budget and a wide range of terrific programming.
This year, the friends donated money for the construction of three small group study rooms to be used by community groups, businessmen, students and more. In addition, the Friends fund all children’s programs, including the TLC program, and prizes for Youth and Teen Services programs, including the Summer Reading Program. It also sponsors programs including the Meet the Author series, Saturday Stich, programs such as Makhelat HaMercaz Jewish Choir of Central New Jersey, the Annual Phyllis Noar Puppetry Festival, and programs on science, art and more.
In 2014, it once again paid the licensing fees for the International and Popular Film Festivals and other film screenings; funded the adult discussion groups; provided Defensive Driving Courses; and much, much more.
If you love the Library, then this is a great way to become more involved. The cost to become a member is $15. The cost to become a supporter is $25. The cost to become a contributor is $50.
