EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - This summer children will once again have the chance to earn a free Slurpee while having positive interactions with law enforcement officers from the East Brunswick Police Department.

Starting June 28, 2018, East Brunswick Police Officers will “ticket” juveniles by rewarding them for good deeds, bicycle safety, constructive activities and acts of kindness. Appropriate “offenses” might include helping another person or participating in a community or police-sponsored event.

Although the reasons for being “ticketed” are varied, the end result is the same for every youngster, a free Slurpee drink and a smile for being a good kid. The East Brunswick Police Department is always looking for ways to reach out and continue to build on our strong relationships within our community and Operation Chill makes it easy for officers to interact with kids in a positive way.

Year after year, Operation Chill has been 7-Elevens most popular community service program. Kids love Slurpee drinks, and police officers love having a reason to approach kids and surprise them with a Slurpee coupon as a reward for doing something good.

The East Brunswick Police Department would like to thank 7-Eleven for their support through facilitating important relationships and positive connections in our community. Each coupon can be redeemed for a small Slurpee drink at participating 7-Eleven stores.
