EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The East Brunswick girls basketball team took on the top team in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division and just came up short.

South Brunswick came away with a 50-49 victory led by Amber Brown's 29 points on Thursday night.

Nicole Johnson, a junior forward, paced East Brunswick with 19 points. Bianca Nakar and Alyssa Bondi each finished with eight points for the Bears. East Brunswick trailed, 41-35, after three quarters but rallied to come within one in the final quarter.
