Girls Lacrosse: South Brunswick Bruises East Brunswick Bears, 18-5

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The South Brunswick lady’s lacrosse team battered the Bears Thursday, 18-5.

Ten different Vikings scored during the match, led by Shannen Sterner with six goals, Briana Gonzales, Jill Grzelak and Haley Konopka with two each and single goals scored by Emily Foltiny, Amanda Palumbo, Izzy Lam, Claudia Cohen, Medha Gupta, and Louisa-Post Zwicker.

The Vikings flew out in front, outscoring East Brunswick 10-2 in the first half and then continuing the scoring barrage in the second half, 8-3.

For the Bears, Caitlyn Robertson accounted for three goals and Madelyn Farrell added the remaining two scores.

Vikings goalie Dakota Apicella stopped 14 shots on defense, while East Brunswick’s Kayla Reardon stopped 10.

The Vikings improve to 5-1 and East Brunswick falls to 2-5.
