EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - It was a tough win, but the East Brunswick Girls Volleyball team pulled it off today in a contest with the Red Devils of Rancocas Valley. It took three games, but the Bears got it done winning the second round of the NJSIAA Tournament game at home.
EBHS took lead by winning the first game 25-21, but were bested by Rancocas Valley (Burlington County) in the second game 19-25.
The final game in this "best 2 out of 3" series was a real nail-biter with the Bears leading 24-14 for several minutes, just a point away from victory. Little by little, the Red Devils scored goals or took advantage of opportunities to raise their score to 19. Ultimately, the Bears scored the final winning point to clinch the victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The Bears' next game will be their participation in the state quarterfinals at Bridgewater-Raritan High School on Tuesday, November 8 at 4:30.
