EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - In a game they controlled from the outset, the Lady Bears of East Brunswick High School defeated Sayreville, 2-0, yesterday on their home turf in the opening round of the state tournament.

Sarah Schnayder scored her first \-ever varsity goal early in the game, seemingly taking the wind out of Sayreville, which was intent on controlling the game defensively. The Bears dominated the play from that point forward, outshooting Sayreville, 12-4, for the game. Sydney Rosa capped a beautiful scoring drive in the second half by scoring, giving the Lady Bears their final margin of victory.

The Bears advance to the second round of the Central Jersey, Group 4 tournament on Thursday against Jackson High School.
