EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The junior-laden Lady Bears of East Brunswick High School are becoming a major player in the Greater Middlesex Conference basketball race. The Lady Bears ran their record on the season to an impressive 10-2 after easily disposing of Perth Amboy by a final score of 45-29 on Tuesday.
In what has become a consistent pattern of balanced scoring, once which seems to have a rotation of scoring leaders each game, last night was Dayna Sclafani's turn, leading the Lady Bears with 13 points. Allie Warren chipped in with nine as East Brunswick broke out to a 19-9 halftime lead, and never looked back, cruising to the easy victory.
As they continue to be at or near the top of the conference race, first-year coach Keith Lane's team next has a chance to avenge one of its only two losses on the season, as they will square off against South Brunswick Thursday afternoon at home at 5:30 p.m.
