EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - C'mon, you remember these poor guys, forced to spend the summer with their ditzy aunt, crooked uncle, and tyrannical grandmother in practically suburban Yonkers, of all places.

And, in addition to that, they have to wear knickers. Tucked in a small apartment and onstage tonight at Playhouse 22, Lost in Yonkers, a Neil Simon comedy, opens tonight and runs through April 17.

Set in Yonkers, N.Y. in 1942, Lost in Yonkers is the coming-of-age story
of Jay, a 15-year-old boy, living with his younger brother, Arty, their
other-worldly Aunt Bella, a small-time hoodlum Uncle Louie and
Grandma Kurnitz, their cold and tough grandmother.  Together they share an
apartment that's barely big enough to contain their issues and common desires to be free.

The show is directed by Deborah Pedretti.  The cast features Ryan
Gordon as Arty, Joey Kalet as Jay, Rupert Ravens as Louie, Lee Grabelsky
as Eddie, Anamaria Kalet as Bella, Jacqueline Master as Gert, and Sherry
Lilenfeld as Grandma Kurnitz.

Featured performer Ryan Gordon, last seen onstage as Peter Cratchitt in the P22 production of A Christmas Carol, portrays Arty, the elder of two brothers having the worst summer vacation ever.  Gordon was recently awarded the NJ ACT Perry Award for " Best Youth Male Actor" for his portrayal of Eugene Jerome in Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs at the Freehold Center Playhouse.  Says Gordon, "I had no clue I was going to win it.  One of the other actors was a professional who took lots of lessons."  Gordon has performed onstage since he was a student at Churchill and Hammarskjold.  He is also currently a member of the EBHS Varsity Golf Team.

All performances are Friday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and
Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $22/adults and $20/seniors and students, and can be purchased
online at Playhouse22.org, by calling the Box Office at (732) 254-3939 or
at the Box Office window.

Playhouse 22 is conveniently located at the East Brunswick Community Arts
Center at 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
