EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Authorities now believe that the body recovered from the debris of the home demolished in Tuesday night's explosion is likely that of the home's owner, Terry Punia.
Punia has not been heard from by either friends or family since Tuesday's explosion, despite numerous attempts to locate him.
According to Channel 7 Eyewitness News, Punia has lived alone since a divorce a few years ago. His brother contacted Punia's attorney, East Brunswick lawyer Alan Cosner, and asked him to be present at the scene of the explosion this morning and early afternoon.
East Brunswick Police brought in cadaver dogs to search for a body, and the dogs zeroed in on a location where the body was found. An autopsy is expected to be performed to confirm the identification and cause of death. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
