EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The East Brunswick Pathmark on Route 18 South and Route 9 North in Old Bridge 561 Route are two of 25 A&P and Pathmark stores closing their doors across the Northeast.

Following the closing of the Foodtown on Route 18 several years ago, the Pathmark closure represents even more change and more closed stores alternating with new businesses on Route 18. The remaining grocery in East Brunswick include Shop-Rite and Wal-Mart
on Route 18 North, Stop and Shop on
Route 18 South, and Acme on Ryder's Lane.

The Old Bridge Pathmark will be remembered as the site of the random deadly killings of two young people in 2012.  Store management and staff were praised for their compassionate handling of the shocking murders.

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC announced Monday that it has entered into an agreement with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company to acquire 25 A&P stores in Greater New York for $146 million.

How does the A&P and Pathmark's bankruptcy filing affect customers?

The vast majority of our stores are operating normally and will be fully stocked. While some stores will close in the near-term, the vast majority will continue providing customers with the same high-quality products and exceptional customer service. Serving our customers will continue to be our #1 priority.

Will the Company continue to honor customer loyalty programs?

Yes. We will honor all existing customer promotional and loyalty programs.

Can I still use my coupons and loyalty points at other locations?
