TRENTON, NJ - Legislation Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin (D-18) sponsored to make it easier for New Jersey residents to make voluntary taxpayer contributions to honor World War II veterans was recently signed into law.

The new law (formerly bill A-445) allows New Jersey residents to contribute to the New Jersey World War II Veterans' Memorial Fund via their gross income tax returns. The fund provides financial support for the World War II Memorial across from the Statehouse in Trenton.

"Justice and freedom won along with the Allied forces during World War II. Preserving the World War II Veterans' Memorial is about preserving our faith in, and commitment to, those ideals," said Pinkin (D-Middlesex). "With a new means of giving to this worthy cause, more New Jersey residents will consider making a contribution and keeping the memory of World War II veterans alive long into the future."
