Piscataway Man Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Lawrence Lapczynski, 47, of Piscataway was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of possession of child pornography, announced police officials.

In a Wednesday release, Middlesex County Prosecutor, Andrew C. Carey and Piscataway Police Chief, Scott Cartmell said Lapczynski was arrested and charged after investigators determined he had stored an undisclosed number of illicit images of children on his home computer.

Lapczynski worked as a referee for the Raritan Valley Soccer Officials Association and as a freelance umpire and referee through the Arbiter Sports website.

The investigation is active and is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Robert Wei of the Piscataway Police Department at (732) 562-2370, or Detective George Stilwell of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-8675.
