EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -- The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), will be playing at Playhouse 22 from April 28 - May 7, as part of the theater's "On The Edge" series.
The Complete Works is a comedy by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, that parodies the plays of William Shakespeare with all of them being performed (in comically shortened or merged form) by only three actors. Presented in the theater's Studio Theater at Playhouse 22, the "On the Edge" series is an opportunity for directors to present lesser known or smaller works that might not be suited to a full-scale production. The emphasis is on the play and the acting, not costumes, props or special effects. The shows are presented with the audience on the stage, right in the middle of the action, allowing a ringside view as the story unfolds around them.
Playhouse 22's production is directed by Jennifer Moffett.
Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. All general admission tickets are $15, and can be purchased online at Playhouse22.org; calling the Box Office at (732) 254-3939; or at the door on the day of the performance.
Playhouse 22 is conveniently located at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.
