SAYREVILLE, NJ - After a week plus of events that can be only described as unimaginable, the Town Of Sayreville will attempt to begin the healing process by coming together for a community vigil at Kennedy Park in Sayreville at 6:00 PM. Many officials and clergy, both past and present, along with families, players, and former players are expected to attend the event in the hopes that it will somehow allow a small step in the healing to begin for a town so terribly affected by the events of the past ten days.
This evening, a statement was issued by the newly formed Sayreville Coalition Of Community Leadership, made up of many pillars of the community, announcing the formation of their group and calling on the community to come together and encouraging many in the town to join the coalition, in the hopes that the issues that have divided the town in the past weeks can be bridged, and that a community so seriously hurt can come together and move forward as a unified Sayreville.
All are welcome to join the community at the event Sunday evening.
As always, Sayreville officials are urging calm, and also urging those that can, to carpool and share rides, as a large turnout is expected.
