Second Accident at Route 18 and Eggers Street Claims a Life

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Following a recent two-bus collision at the intersection of Route 18 South and Eggers Street, a crash involving a 2015 Nissan and a New Jersey Transit bus claimed the life of 75-year-old Steven Kahn of Kenoza Lake, N.Y. on Monday night at the same location.

At around 6:11 p.m., Kahn was traveling south on Route 18 when he moved from the center lane to the right lane, colliding with the bus, according to a report issued by the East Brunswick Police Department.  

Along with the EBPD, paramedics from Atlantic Ambulance and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital transported Kahn to the the RWJ emergency room. Kahn was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m. Neither the passengers nor the driver of the bus reported injuries.

The circumstances that led to the collision are currently being investigated. Police advise anyone who saw the accident or who can offer any information to contact Ptl. Anthony DeSantis or Ptl. Glen Tabasko of the EBPD Special Operations Unit at 732-390-6969
