SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood School District announced service arrangements for Spotswood High School English teacher John Chaya who passed away suddenly on Tuesday. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 14 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home in Berwick, Pennsylvania.

"We are also working with Mr. Chaya’s family, our staff and representatives of our student body to appropriately remember his contribution to our educational community and the lives of our students," Spotswood Superintendent Graham Peabody wrote in a letter emailed to parents in the district. "Information will follow as it becomes available over the next few weeks."

Chaya was a Pennsylvania native and a resident of East Brunswick. He taught at Spotswood High School for the past 19 years.
